Thanksgiving Dress.

It is somewhat of a tradition for Mother to sew a Thanksgiving dress for Sister. This year's creation was lovely- sewn from a stunning Joel Dewberry voile, and stitched into a simple pull-over dress pattern from Simplicity, number 5645. Mother scissor-drafted a girl's size 11 (off of the size 7 she cut a few years ago) lengthened it to shoe-length, and added a simple pleat at the middle of the front of the skirt. The square neckline is reminiscent of a pilgrim gown, but the bright paisley is much too loud for our forbears.
For Sister, it is perfect.
